About
Alastair Mitchell is the creator of the Jet and Diamond comic series and the founder of Mitchellcomix. He started drawing as a hobby in 2011, taking inspiration from classics like Garfield, Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes. He soon found that his comic strips could be an effective communication tool he could use to share his thoughts on various topics with friends, teachers and family members. Alastair has created more than 50 characters and many series ideas which he continues to develop.
From 2015-2018, Alastair created a series of Christmas cards, selling them at various craft sales in the Edmonton area. The cards as it went on introduced a pair of characters that would influence his next project; Jet, a blue-wearing boy who was mostly seen in outdoor settings, and Diamond, a girl who had a lot of potential for comedy. Jet and Diamond’s characters would later be developed the following year as he released the book called Jet and Diamond in 2020 and a Card Game in 2021. His next project, Crystal Ninja, is expected to release in 2024.
